Said Kues

/said kwest/ — say it out loud

The main quest is work, sleep, repeat. This is everything I do instead — hobbies, travel, a bucket list, and four free tools built because the app that should have existed, didn't.

The tools

Currency Converter

Shows you the money, not just the number — the actual notes and coins you would hand over. Rates cached, so it works with no signal.

Birthday Loot

Every Malaysian birthday freebie worth claiming, in one list. Star what you want, tick off what you redeem, watch the ringgit stack up. Halal status flagged where certified.

Baik Beli

Kira dulu, baru beli. Type the price and size as printed on the pack — 900ml, 6×250ml, 12 pcs — and see which is genuinely cheaper per unit. Then weigh the pros and cons properly.

Gapboard

Where the other three came from. Write an idea, name the problem under it, list what already exists. Whatever is left is the gap — and the gap is the next side quest.

  • Gap analysis

The rest of the list

Four tracks

01

Hobbies

Whatever has my attention this month. Rarely the same thing twice, and that is the point.

02

Travel

Places worth burning leave days on. Usually a short flight from KL, occasionally much further.

03

Bucket list

The things it would be embarrassing to admit I never got round to. Slowly getting shorter, and longer.

04

Side quests

Small tools for problems that annoyed me first. Four are live — the next is in Gapboard.

Questions

The usual four

Are the tools really free?

Yes. All four are free to use, with no accounts, no ads, no trial period and nothing to buy. They are side projects, not a business.

Do they work offline?

Currency Converter, Birthday Loot and Baik Beli can be added to your home screen and keep working with no connection. Currency Converter holds on to the last exchange rates it fetched so you can still convert on a plane or across a border.

Where is my data stored?

On your device, and nowhere else. There is no backend and no account, so nothing you type is sent to a server. Clearing your browser data clears the tools too, which is why most of them let you export a copy first.

Are they built specifically for Malaysia?

Birthday Loot and Baik Beli are — Malaysian deals, ringgit, halal certification and local pack sizes. Currency Converter and Gapboard work anywhere in the world.
